Title: Cause of Death
Post by: dinarina on Friday 13 April 18 17:50 BST (UK)
I'm hoping that some one out there can tell me the cause of death for my Mary and also her deceased father's occupation. I'm also having a bit of difficulty reading the informant's first name. I thought it may be James but haven't came across a birth for him yet.

Any help would be appreciated on this one thanks.

Richard Winstanley
Sawyer*
(Deceased)

*I think the writer started with "Say..." before correcting to "Sawyer"

Thought it was that but have been looking it up as an alternative to Dysentery

Who did Mary marry? The informant to her death is showing as her son.

Tillypeg, I think you are right with the surname of Porteous.

Mary Winstanley looks to have married a John Porteous. They had a son James c. 1828 it seems - www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:SBPZ-R5G (you need to be signed on to view now).
