Title: UK Wills - 19th Century
Post by: Ozdot on Saturday 31 March 18 09:30 BST (UK)
Can someone please tell me if there is a site I can use to check out a will - my great-great-grandfather - who died sometime after 1861?
I'm sure there would have been a will, he was from a 'comfortable' family.  My great grandfather, his son, left a nice amount between his three daughters.
All help really appreciated.
Cheers,
Dot.

Wills from 1858 are listed here, if you find one you can order it on line. Make sure you click the correct tab for the period you want, if it says Administration rather than Probate, it will mean there was no will (unless one is stated) and it is unlikely to provide any mote information.

Thank you so much, Jebber.  Now I have my nose to the scent.
