Title: Rose John Marshall - WW1 Australia
Post by: SurfinNan on Monday 26 March 18 11:07 BST (UK)
Could someone please clean up this photo for me?

It looks like there may have been some deterioration as it seems to be ghosted over the image.

Image was available for download from the Australian War Memorial website and states that it is without copyright and in the public domain, so I presume it will be OK to post.

John Marshall Rose (1894-1916) would have been a cousin to my grandmother, and I'd like a nice photo to go with his war and family records.

Thank you

Nothing much can be done due to low resolution

As Rami says, a very difficult one, hard to know what is going on in the background, fortunately his face wasn't touched.

Thank you for your efforts. They both look better than it was. The low resolution was all I could download. I just thought it was better than no picture. Once again thank you both for what you have done.

Does look good in colour, although I think the Union Jack would have been red not green. Thank you.

No problem, it may well be the UJ as you say....Artistic license from me with some Australian green and yellow - as it came from the AWM  8)
