Hi I am trying to find out the name of the cobbler who fixed the shoes of the children in smyllum orphanage between 1955 to 1962 he had a hut on the grounds that he worked from

Off the top of my head, I wonder if you could look through trade directories to see who the cobblers in Lanark were at that time. Phone books too, if they had a classified listing. Electoral registers are unlikely to help much unless he actually lived in the grounds.
