I am looking for the marriage of a William James born between 1750 and 1765 and a Frances born between 1750 and 1765 in Kent. Their two children were born in Woolwich Kent in 1784 and 1788.
I have searched parish records but cannot find any thing. Would appreciate help on this. Cannot find a birth/baptism record for William James either. His two children were baptised in Baptist Church so found them in Non Conformist records.

One possibility.....
William James widower married Fanny Austin, 24 Dec 1782, St Bride Fleet Street, London.

Thanks Jo ...I will look into this but I thought my William and Frances were married in Kent where their children were born. Thanks for finding this one.

Woolwich and St Brides Fleet Street are less than 10 miles apart so not too unlikely, very common to marry in the brides parish.
Do you have anything that gives Williams occupation, age, etc???

Yes I just checked out the location so it is a good possibility. Sadly I do not have anything on William or Frances. Just found them on the non conformist baptism record for Mary Ann James born 1788 and Francis James born 1784...both in Woolwich (St Marys).

I have been trying to find the marriage record
William James widower married Fanny Austin, 24 Dec 1782, St Bride Fleet Street, London.
I can only find an index - is there another record that shows William was a widower?
Any help appreciated.

The marriage is in the London, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1931 on Ancestry.
