Hi there,
I am trying to establish whether Frederick Edward Blackett Beaumont (1833-1899) married a Emma Jacobs (1843) in 1864. Frederick was in the army and served in Turkey and India. He patented a pistol and boring tool. After he left the army he became an MP.
Members of the Jacob family have been told that he married Emma. I have tried to see if they married in India but can find no record. I can find no record of a marriage in the UK.
Emma is quite elusive and so is Frederick. Considering he was an MP I cannot find an obituary for him.
Any help would be greatly received.

Did they have any children? If so - where and when were they born?

He has a wikipedia page:

And a portrait in The National Portrait Gallery:

A website for the Blackett family has no wife for him?

He left a will - administration with will was granted to a spinster called Amy Catherine Wellesley Farie

1871 census says he is married though there is no wife with him.
-
No mention of him being married when he joined Parliament :-\

Any documentary proof of this? Who told them?
married a Emma Jacobs (1843)
Jacob or Jacobs? - you use both spellings.
Where was Emma born and who were her parents? What do you know about her later life?
-
He is buried at Kensal Green with Edward B Beaumont (1878) & Jane Beaumont (1893)

Thank you very much for all your replies.
Sorry it is Jacobs.
As far as I know they didn't have any children. I can't find a record of any.
Best wishes

That would be his father and mother.

Emma was born in Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1853. Her father was David Jacobs and her mother was Jemima Seyers. Her mother died in 1844 and on the 1851 census Emma is living with her older sister Sarah.
Many thanks
