Please can someone help me find the birth of Elizabeth Ducker? In the 1861 census it says she was born in St Lukes Middlesex about 1791. She was 74 when she died in 1865. Her married name was Valder having married James Valder in 1817 in St Lukes Old-Charlton Kent. She may have been born there?
Many thanks

I wonder if she was a widow when she married James? There is a marriage of a John Ducker to an Elizabeth Wrench in 1810 and then the family disappear after 1813. The original marriage should say if she was a widow. Does someone have access to the original of the marriage to James Valder on 19 Jul 1817 in St Luke OldCharlton please?

You will have to go to an LDS library many of the films are now searchable on a computer at their libraries.
Just in case it becomes relevant
John Ducker widower, married Elizabeth Wrench spinster, both of St Margaret's Lewisham, Kent married 16 January 1810 witness Ann ----dering, Thomas Oberien? by banns.

Thanks. Elizabeth Wrench is a real possibility. Does it give their ages in 1810 please? John Ducker was in the Navy - a boatswain. They had three children Charlotte who disappears, John who died in 1814, and Abba-Sophia who disappears but who dies in 1868.

No ages given concerning the marriage, however John Ducker dies 1815 and was buried 30 April 1815 at St Nicholas Greenwich age 56, abode Royal Charlotte Yacht.
So he was born circa 1759 and considerably older than Elizabeth when they married he would have been 51 and she 19 if her age at death is to be believed yet they married by banns.
If we have the correct Elizabeth then her age is off by a minimum of 2 years, she would have to be 21 to marry without parents permission.
I looked for a will for John Ducker but nothing has turned up so far.

Thanks. His daughter was Charlotte too. She was born in 1809 and they married in 1810! She was baptised a few days after the marriage. It seems strange for a 51 year old to marry a 21 year old, but if it is them, they had a baby girl.

We went to the family history centre today and looked at the original marriage record for Ducker/Valder in 1817. Elizabeth Ducker was a widow so her birth name probably was Elizabeth Wrench; she married John Ducker in 1810. He died in 1815. They seemed to have had a daughter Charlotte in 1809!.. He was serving in the navy on the Royal Charlotte yacht.
