Title: Family Fitzgerald
Post by: huriteAO on Friday 05 January 18 01:12 GMT (UK)
This appears on my ancestor's death registration (NZ). Hoping someone can decipher the bottom name beginning with L, and to what the name refers - a place, or another family name?

These are the parents of Louis James Haddon who died in NZ 1905

James Haddon
*Flanora Haddon  (aka Hannah Fitzgerald Haddon)

Hi Billyblue ... James was part of the Royal Fencibles - arrived in NZ in 1852. He was a soldier/pensioner.

It may be Hanora as opposed to Fianora. The linking between the cross and upstrokes on the H seems to be very faint.
