Hi All,
I am tracing back my wife's side of the family. The story goes they came out on the 2nd fleet to Australia (not as convicts), but I have never been able to prove this.
Winifred Mary Partridge (1923-2006) is the starting point. She was born in Australia and died in Dandenong, Melbourne, Australia. We think her mother was Isabella McMullen, it is either her mother, or her mothers mother who was on the 2nd fleet, but have hit a dead end.
Any help would be fantastic as it will either prove the story, or finish it.

What further details have you on Isabella McMullen - place or date of birth or any parents or siblings, and husband? Or was she an unmarried Mother
We do not want to find information that you already know.
Thanks.

Hi,
We don't have a lot of detail on Isabella McMullen. We believe she is Winifred Mary Partridge's (1923--2006) mother, but not 100% confirmed.
Winifred married in 1945 to William James Cox (1922-1981). I can go a long way back on William's side, but not Winifred's.

Have you got Winifred's birth certificate and Isabella's marriage certificate to Mr Partridge?
-
There is a tree on Ancestry that has a William James Cox born 1922, Victoria and died 1981 Melbourne.
He is married to a Winnifred Mary Partridge born 1925 Victoria died 2000 Melbourne, her possible mother Ruth Isabel McFarlane (1894 - 1967)
Is the above paragraph totally wrong?
-
OK
There is WiNNifred Mary Cox living with William James Cox in 1968 to 1980 at 10 Kulnine Avenue Michm (Heatherdale Deakin) Victoria.

Just putting this for information:
Ruth Isabel Mcfarlane spouse Fred Partridge
Marriage in Victoria in 1916

Ben,
Am I right in assuming your wife's mother was the Winifred Mary PARTRIDGE?
If that is the case, your wife's own birth certificate will have details of her mother including her marriage and birthplace. These details will give more information to work back from.
Or is Winifred your wife's grandmother?

Hi all,
Thanks so much for your help.
Yes it is my wife’s grandmother and we don’t have a copy to my wife’s mother’s birth certificate.
The details of the Mitcham address, Kuline Ave, is correct. This is the right person. Does this lead you anywhere?
Thanks again so much!

Have you got Winnifred's marriage certificate to William Cox in 1945?
-
Jeffrey Lewis Cox is living with Winnifred and William in 1972 - have you any further useful information on him?
Also Guarinola Cox in 1977 (sorry, my image is very unclear)
