Could you please date this photograph? Some kind people have restored it for me and I have attached the original for dating only.

As you know the name of the sitter, presumably you know her year of birth? At a guess, she looks to be in her early twenties in this photo, so you should be able to come up with an approximate year that the photo was taken.

Added: if Nellie was her given name rather than a nickname, there is a birth registered in Shardlow in 1900 which may fit. That also tallies with Carol's estimate of 1920s for the photo.

Added: For confirmation, the 1901 census has this Nellie with parents William and Elizabeth plus siblings, living in Long Eaton.

I think dates were given on your other thread. However, I'd say it was late 1920s.

I was going by the hair - but just found an online pic dated as 1918, which has a similar blouse* :

If memory serves the largish cutaway collar was a style from around 1917.

Have a look at the first image above- my book reckons that the Art Deco motif on photo covers  was 1925-1935  :-\
