Can anyone help with the maiden surname of Ann McDonalds mother in this marriage cert please?
I've been working on it as 'Margaret Dalgety' but getting absolutely nowhere!
Any suggestions/ideas welcome x
Check out this photo I found on the Ancestry mobile app

Unfortunately, by the time I zoomed in far enough to read it, everything was too blurry.
Any chance of putting a snip in a post?
It could be Dalgety, but the initial letter could also be a K ???

It looks like "Dalgely" but, I see from the word "Street" that the writer doesn't put much pressure when crossing his "t"s. Thus I think it's probably maiden surname "Dalgety"

Lindsay, have you tried searching the many spelling variations of Dalgety (Delkety, Dalgeddie and everything in between) as well as name variants like Getty and Geddie? If Ann McDonald is the 9 year old living with her grandmother (Margaret Taylor in Upperkirkgate, Aberdeen) in the 1851 census it appears both her parents may have died when she was quite young.
Cheers, Peter.

Thanks all!
Dawn, I struggled to attach what I did - I couldn't figure how to attach a snippet of the document. Technology isn't my thing lol.
Thanks for suggestions Peter, no I haven't tried alternative spellings yet..... yes, I wonder if her parents died when she was young.... I can't find anything on them yet either.
I'll keep trying!
Thanks for all your replies x
