I am trying to trace the parents of Thomas Henry Carroll born Liverpool 1892, he is the grandfather of my partner and he has very little information about him, he knows he married a Mary McGlynn in 1924 in Liverpool and went on to have 7 children
Leo - b 1926 - my partners father
Thomas - b 1928
Gerard (Jerard)
Ronald (Ronnie)
Leslie
Maureen
Joan b 1924
any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

A copy of the marriage certificate should give the name and occupation of his father; the 1924 marriage index just shows his name as Thomas Carroll, not Thomas Henry.
Thomas Carroll JunQ 1924 Liverpool 8B 304 (bride Mary McGlynn)

Have you looked on the Free Birth Marriage Death index for his birth?
If you look either side of 1892 in Liverpool district to start with.
Do you know if he was ever a soldier or what occupation he had?

Not even sure where I've got the "H" from, I'll take it out and try again.
Will see if I can find out if he was a solider will give FreeBMD another go and see what comes up.
Thanks for pointers.

The family are on the 1939 register and Thomas ( Snr) has a birth year ten years later than the one you have quoted.

Thanks IsobelW will look deeper into this.

A Thomas Carroll with a birthdate matching the 1939 register died in Liverpool in 1983.

I gave you the information re. Thomas and Mary's birthdates/deaths (on 29/11/1916) on your previous thread regarding this couple i.e. that Thomas born 1902 not 1892!
The details of the marriage of he and Mary is not available online so the only way you can learn more about either of them is by purchasing the marriage certificate for 1924.
