My 3xGGrandmother Anne Davis has always been a bit of a mystery and landed in the two hard basket. 1841 census and (Australian) death certificate state that she was born in St Ebbes, Oxford approx 1809 to Richard and Anne Davis. I've never found any confirmation of this and also no records of Richard and Anne - 4xGGrandparents. I'd be grateful if anyone was able to do a lookup and located them.
Thanks
Suzanne

Hi
1841 census does not give a place of birth, just a Y/N as to whether born in county
When/where did she marry and to whom
-
I can't see a suitable baptism for Ann but thave found this marriage
Richard Davis/Ann Grant Oxford 15 March 1792
Might be worth looking into. Unfortunately not even familysearch seem to have any records for St Ebbes.

I have the OFHS CD with St Ebbes on it and there are 3 Davis families baptising children between 1800 and 1810 but I can see only 1 Ann:-
11 June 1801- Ann d Richard & Mary DAVIS
+
25 Sept 1803-Elizabeth d Richard & Mary DAVIS
Kim
Edit-There does not appear to be a marriage at St Ebbes for Richard & Mary

Hi Suzanne,
In the Oxford St.Ebbes actual registers (now on Anc...y) there is certainly an Ann Davis baptised 5-3-1809 but with parents Francis & Mary Davis.
Is it concieveable she has got the names of her parents wrong? could she have been brought up by other family members and thought her parents were Richard & Anne.
