Hi All
Does anyone have any information regarding a Nurse Collins, who ran a mother and baby home in Dublin. My mother was 'passed through' this home in 1941 and it seems Nurse Collins did not keep records of the birth families of the babies that were passed through her home for adoption. Nurse Collins has passed away and it seems her records are nowhere to be found. Has anyone else heard of Nurse Collins and did you manage to find any information regarding babies she put out for adoption.
Thank you.

There has been some investigative journalism done on these homes and the scandals involved.
Over 9,000 Irish women or 'inmates' went through these doors, forced to repent

I don't think Nurse Collins is mentioned (she may be in one of the links)but it will give you an idea of the difficulties others have had trying to find information and hopefully some ideas on where to look.
