Title: Help with Catherine Kelly Birth
Post by: Byrdale on Saturday 09 September 17 19:49 BST (UK)
Hi

Would you be able to help this puzzle I have. I'm trying to look for the birth of Catherine A. Kelly born 26th Oct 1911 in Dublin. I don't know her mother name and on her marriage cert it doesn't show a father name.
She wont be on the 1911 census as that was taken earlier in the year.

I have looked on the 'Irish Genealogy.ie ' for the birth and my next step would be to order a copy of the birth by filling in the form, but I have no volume or page no. will they still be able to find it?

If you can think of another avenue worth investigating I would appreciate it.

TIA

Many Dublin births are registered without a first name as Unknown, have you tried searching without a first name?

This site has the birth certificates for 1911 on-line. There are several Catherine/Kate Kelly births in Dublin in 1911, but none on 26th October.

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie

There was this one on 6th October:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1911/01511/1613675.pdf

And the closest was on 27th October:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1911/01511/1613685.pdf

In case you can’t read it, place of birth was the Rotunda Hospital. Parents residence was 3 Corporation Place.

If her birth isn't in the index there is no birth cert and if it is in the index the image will be online so you don't need to order it.
