Hi would someone please be able to try and find this family, lived around walton on hill area. I have found some marriage and birth info so am after death/burial, census or any information you can find. Thank you.
Father: William (Harold?) Clements - an engraver
Mother: Margaret Williams (or Gordon)
They were married 14/10/1816 at St Annes, Liverpool, so must have been born c1790's
Children: ambrosina b1819, william? b1821, Cornelius? (b1822) Charles b1826?, Harold b1827 (died in new zealand), margaret isabella (died in australia), clemintina b1829, camilla b1830, septimus b1831 (may have gone to america)
The impression I have is that the family were wealthy, I am descended from Harold and we were told he was a remittance man but I am not sure if this is correct.
Margaret married James Harper Kirkham they emigrated to australia
Harold married Maria Ryding Kirkham, also went to australia. Harold may have been in merchant navy.

He died on 8 May 1850:
On the 8th instant, in Bold-Place, in his 60th year, Mr. William Clements, wood engraver.
(Liverpool Mail, 11 May 1850)
There was a son Ambrose born circa 1819 who died in December 1836:
On Wednesday the 7th inst. aged 17, Ambrose Clements, son Mr. Clements, engraver
(Gore's Liverpool General Advertiser, 15 December 1836)

The age in the newspaper announcement appears to be slightly out. The GRO index records William's age at death as 56.
There is a burial at Walton on the Hill on 11 May 1850 for William Clements, aged 56 of Liverpool.

:) thank you very much for the information, it is much appreciated and very helpful.

In Gore's 1843 Directory, William Clements, engraver(wood) is at 10 Falkland Street.
1 Peach Street is occupied by Henry Riding.
That "Riding" name crops up in an advert in the Melbourne Argus on 23 August 1856:
CLEMENTS, MARIA RIDING, who sailed from Liverpool, 1852, in the Alciope, is requested to communicate with Harold Clements....

Another marriage for Septimus, in New York in 1869:-

There was another daughter Mary Ann Clements born 1836 who married John Curtis in Liverpool in 1857.
She was baptised (RC) as Mary Ann (Maria Anna) Curtis at Holy Cross on 21 April 1867.
On second thoughts that may be not be right. Parents were William and Margaret but mmn was Malin.

There is a merchant navy record for Harold Clements, a seaman, born Liverpool on 29 May 1827 (tallies with his RC baptism record). First went to sea in 1846. Ticket issued at Liverpool in 1848. Voyages noted in 1852 and 1854.

Ah - I see from a previous thread that Maria Riding Clements was Harold's wife!

Many thanks for all the information. I have new details now, the parents of William Clements were John Clements and Isabella - this is from Find A Grave. John clements may have been a jeweller in Liverpool. It would be very useful if anyone could help with finding other children (williams siblings) or
any information about John and Isabella.
