You could try contacting West Derby Cemetery and seeing if they can help

The West Derby Registration District covered many areas so there are several cemetaries he could be buried in

https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/west%20derby.html

In 1901 he was living in Bibby's Lane Bootle cum Linacre

If he was Catholic - he could be in Ford Cemetary

His death was registered in the September qtr 1906

The 1901 census shows his wife as Isabella but there is no marriage.  Children were registered as Simpson

There is an 1883 marriage between Henry Hosier and Mary Ward

Isabella was presumably married already.

Marriages Sep 1890   (>99%)
CHRISTIE    Isabella        W. Derby    8b   991     Scan available - click to view
Simpson    Henry        W. Derby    8b   991

The childrens births registered in the name of Simpson have mothers maiden name of Christie.
