Hi,
Are you referring to the Richard Banting bapt. in Bampton?
I only ask as you mention Watlington which is some distance from Bampton.

1851 census shows William, living in Couching Street, Watlington as a master shoemaker, employing 6 men and 2 women. He gives his birthplace as Oxford.
Possible 1841 has him as an apprentice shoemaker living in Cambridgeshire; shown as "not born in county".

Hi Ribbo......Yes I'm sorry I should have mentioned Bampton. I have all the sibling info on the Bantings from Bampton , its just Richards marriage I cant find. I know her name is Sarah but I don't know where she comes from or where they married....Their eldest daughter Mary born 1820 was christend with sister Martha on 8 Sept 1823 at St Thomas's .
Mary married William Smith in Oxford in Oct 1843 and promptley left him for William Knobbs. They had a child William Charles who was registered as Knobbs but christend as Smith. So I would like to know where William Knobbs hails from. All I have is 1820 Oxford.
Mary died in Watlington in 1850.
Fingers still crossed

I checked the OFHS's Oxfordshire Marriage Index (1538-1837).
The only marriages for a Richard BANTING(E) took place in 1626 and 1790.
These are the only instances of a BANTIN(G)(E) marrying a Sarah:
28 FEB 1831 - James BANTING (of Broughton) to Sarah KIRBY at Lechlade GLS
06 SEP 1832 - John BANTING to Sarah Mary SEWARD at OXF St. Mary Magdalen
I also checked the marriage bond indexes and there was nothing there either.
