My grandfather was James B. Cocksedge...Don't know/remember much about him or his siblings...He was born in 1898...and the greatest person I have ever known (in our short time together).
...Can anyone fill in some of the blanks? I do know there was quite a few Brothers and sisters...in England...

The 1901 reveals the following list of people living at 2, Bracken Road, Brighouse, Halifax, Yorkshire
Luke and Sarah Ann, the parents, with children Grace, Lucy, Emma, George, Joseph, Helen, Leah and James. James surname has been put down as Barber instead of Cocksedge!
The children are born between 1878 and 1898.
Registration District Halifax - RG13
Piece No. 4115
Folio No. 115
Page No. 1
Luke's occupation is Mason's Contractor and he was born in c.1856 Yorkshire.

COXEDGE Luke Halifax 9a 624
The family are in the same place in the 1911 census

There is a record of James going to New York in 1938.
I see James is on the 1930 census for the US at Glendale, Los Angeles, California. His occupation appears to be tile setter.
There are quite a number of records for James on the Immigration & Travel section of Ancestry. If you have a sub to Ancestry you can look at them for yourself.
Did James marry late as there is a marriage for a James Cocksedge in the June Quarter of 1956, registration district Wharfedale.
-
This popped up on an Internet search of his name. I'm assuming the 'B' is for Barber.

If the 1930 is correct and he was a tile setter, then this is possibly him as a boarder with Emily L Clark, widow aged 53 and son James W aged 17 in 1940. James is single aged 42:

I can't find them on the 1851 census.
On the 1841 James and Mary are with first daughter Sarah. I believe that the George listed is the brother of James who married the same year and quarter as James. The second child listed will most likely belong to George.

Tony, Rootschat has a policy preventing the mention of those who are still living. So, you need to modify your last post to remove your mother's name and your nana, if still alive.
Where did James B marry?

This appears to be James' first arrival in the US in 1922 - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:23XK-C1F The 2nd page of the image says he was going to join brother-in-law Irving Mellor in Sherman, California.
This looks like him on the Social Security Death Index - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JB7V-B6V
On the California death index, it says he was born 8 May 1898 in another country, died 27 Jun. 1987 in Orange County, and his mother's maiden name was Barber. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VPMC-KM7

There are border crossings from 1924 and 1931 that indicate James went to join his brother Joseph in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1924, Joseph's address was 2758 39th Ave., E. Vancouver. In 1931, it was 2962 W. 29th Ave., Vancouver.
