I'm trying to research any information about the Rand Pioneers Association in Johannesburg, which recognised the gold mining pioneers on the Reef from 1886 - 1895. I believe my grandfather was one of the early settlers who worked on the Gold Fields during this time, but I don't have the exact dates of when he arrived. Perhaps an archive exists of the names of it's members and their period of service?

Dear Retsina
The Brenthurst Library in South Africa (www.brenthurst.org.za) has some documentation relating to the Rand Pioneers and Rand Women Pioneers Associations. Please contact us and we will see if we can assist you.
