Hello Angio
Ingy was my Mother's first cousin. Her Father, Johnny Othea Boswell was her aunt Rhodie's sister.
We have a photo of Ingy and a brother who might have been called Edicar after his dad.
Lavina Boswell was my great grandad. I have a photo of him too.
He was named after his grandad, Salvaino.
Eric Trudgill has produced a pamphlet on the whole family.
Mom told us that when duckering. I.e. Fortune telling, Rhoda would ask that the client bring in a white shirt for luck.
It was because Uncle Edicar liked a white shirt.
The family also used the names boss, and Sherrif.
Hope this helps.

Hello Angie
In the book by Eric Trudgill that Vince has mentioned, Ingy is recorded as having been baptised in Atherton, Lancashire, on 12 April 1901 so that's a better match for the birth year you've been given by your neighbour. There's an extensive family tree given for his father and earlier generations.
If you want to get hold of a copy of the book, the full title is "The Family Tree of Viney Boswell" by Eric Trudgill and it's one of a series of around 16 family tree books for well-known Gypsy families published by the Romany and Traveller Family History Society (RTFHS). You can read more about it - and find out how to order - on the RTFHS website: http://rtfhs.org.uk/publications/gypsy-families/
