I am researching the 'Jehu' family of Montgomeryshire as one of my distant G grandmother's was a Sarah Jehu(e), born about 1730 in Llanfair Caereinion.  If anyone else is researching 'Jehu' or has come across Sarah during their researches I would appreciate it if you could contact me.  Thanks in advance.

Also researching the surname 'Brick' in all 3 counties of Powys.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat, can I just ask how you have located a Sarah b 1730 Llanfair Caereinion?

I can locate a Sarah Jehu 26th December 1763 Llanfair Caereinion Father Thomas of Penarth Mother Ann.

And yes - this is my Sarah m John Brick.  My maiden name is Brick and I have researched the name right back to this date (1730) but don't seem to be able to find a record for Sarah's birth or baptism?

On Findmypast I have located a 'Sinah' Jehu baptised 6th September 1730, father Hugonis of Pentyrch, mother Margaretae.  I have a feeling this could be 'Sarah' Jehu, just the way it is written in Latin??? But not sure at all and as I couldn't find any other Sarah Jehu born 1730 or pre 1730 I thought this could be her.  She would be about the right age if she married in 1750 as she would have to be 21 years old or thereabouts.

A Sarah Jane Jehu married my cousin William Edwin HUghes 1922 registered in Oswestry (might be Llansilin)

I'm also researching the Jehu Family, but have started from ancestors who lived in Shropshire.

can I ask if your Sarah was definitely born Jehu or could this have been her married name? The only reason I ask is because I have a Sarah Wilkinson (1723-1792 born in Much Wenlock, Shropshire), who married Joseph Jehu (1728-1792, born in Ceri, Montgomeryshire). I'm pretty sure Joseph's family can be traced back to Llanfair Caereinion as this appears to be where most of the Jehu's originated from.
