Have got as far as I can go on the Moore ancestral line and would appreciate any information about William Moore's family of origin, where he might have been born etc.
William Moore joined the Dubln Metropolitan Police age 27 and declared that he was a Roman Catholic, and a farmer from Queens county. He was recommended for the DMP by Very Rev. J Taylor. Previously he served with the RIC in Maryborough (Portlaoise).
He married Bridget Mockler, born in Donabate, Co Dublin c1873 they had 11 children:
Annie Belinda, William, Mary M, Bridget (Bertha), Patrick, Kathleen (My grandmother), Sarah, John J, Thomas, Eliza and Joseph.
Many thanks and kindest regards,
Mary

Dear Dathai,
What skill you have - I am forever grateful to you for your time and effort. You have opened up another generation for me when I thought I had gone as far as possible.
There is a family tale that I am out to verify or discount which says there is a link between the Mocklers and Gardiners to the Gore-Booths (Alias Countess Markievicz of Lissadell House) in Sligo.
If you are up for a challenge and interested in seeing if you can turn up anything let me know.
The only Gardiner I have so far is Belinda Gardiner, born c 1820 possibly in Sligo, Died Age 56 at 44 Old Kilmainham, Dublin and is buried in Glasnevin. She was married to Denis Mockler, parents of Bridget Mockler who married William Moore - the marriage record which you thankfully turned up. Denis Mockler was in the RIC and stationed in Sligo c1834-1841. My efforts to turn up marriage records for Denis and Belinda married c1839-40 (first child William born 1841) have been unsuccessful.
Kindest regards,
Mary

Hi Mary
i dont subscribe to any of the pay sites so anything that's not on IrishGenealogy or the NLI registers is way over my head and i dont think i can be of further use to you.
Just a note re William Moore's mother Margaret i had a further zoom on her name and there may be a W in the middle of it so guessing that it could possibly be Crowley/Crawley very hard to figure out.
please remove your email address as it's not allowed to prevent spamming etc.
