Hi there,
Looking for Baptism for
HORATIO COLLINS/JAMES,C 1807 oxfordshire - sorry, all I have is the county.
Also his brother
GEORGE COLLINS/James C 1808 oxfordshire. as above
HORATIO married Mary "surname unknown" C 1827 , and they had a child Olive/Oliver
I know this is all a bit vague, but its the best I've got.
regards

More background here: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=775369.
Oxfordshire parish records are now on Ancestry which is available in most public libraries in UK and Australia. Sadly I'm not near one at the moment, but I will check my CD of Oxfordshire marriages.

Thanks Carol, That'd be great.

I've found nothing for Oxfordshire. :-[

The only Horatio in the 'C' surnames is Horatio COLLIER who married 'Eliz Mary COLLINS' at Witney, Oxfordshire on 24 Dec 1827.
No Horatio in the 'J' surnames. However this index isn't as complete as the records on Ancestry.

Ancestry don't make it easy, do they :)
Sign in, then select 'Search' from the bar at the top - from the dropdown list, select 'Card Catalogue' - type Oxfordshire in the 'Title' box, and you should have five results. Ignore 'Visitations'. The other four are parish records, complete with images.
Don't worry, I wouldn't have known if someone on here hadn't explained it ;D

CarolA3,
No luck I'm afraid. The Horatio Collier b 1806 (who looked promising for a minute or so, I found him on the census records 1861 with his wife elizabeth mary and children, so I can eliminate that glimmer of hope. ) ( she would have been the Elizabeth Mary Collins in the marriages)
He's hidden himself well. one criminal record stated his native place as Oxfordshire.
another states it as Crayford, Kent
Thank you very much for taking the time to assist.
Regards
Karen
