Title: zulu war
Post by: northcliffe on Tuesday 11 July 17 11:52 BST (UK)
Hello
I am trying to find information for Edwin Elliott who was born in 1850 at Market Harborough, Leicestershire. He was a lieutenant in the Zulu War. He married Sarah Ann Chapman in 1872. He died in 1913.

Are you sure about the Zulu war bit? He's not in the 1879 or 1880 Army Lists, and he's a civil engineer at home in East Grinstead in the 1881 census with a new daughter Bertha who is just 8 months old.

Hello KGarred
Thank you for your reply. It is Edwin Elliott's war records that I am interested in and I have a record on the Military Campaign Medal and Award Rolls, 1793 to 1949. He was on the 1881 cesus so perhaps he was discharged. Any further info would be welcome.
Kind regards
Northcliffe

I am not seeing an Edwin Elliott there. Can you give us the name and regiment under which this record appears?

Is it Lt E H Elliott, Royal Artillery ? If so that was Edmund Halbert Elliot. Not your man.
