Title: Derbyshire Records Office Matlock
Post by: arcadia on Sunday 02 July 17 07:45 BST (UK)
Hello,
I am seeking anyone who may be visiting the Derbyshire Records Office at Matlock to conduct a lookup for me regarding my Grandfather's period in the Chesterfield Workhouse at 12a Newbold Rd in the mid to late 1930's. He passed away there on 2nd August 1935 and I would like to know when he was admitted and whether my mother, a 14 year old orphan at the time as also there.
Thank you

It may be an idea to contact the record office to see if this information is available to view as many records are subject to 100 year closure period.

If he died in the workhouse he may just have been hospitalised there.  :-\

Thank you very much Rosie for your prompt reply. It is greatly appreciated. I will contact the Records Office as suggested. Didn't consider the 100 year issue.
