Hi Lensmeister
I wondered if you still had the parish registers for Whitby. I am looking for the parents or any family of James Boult born around 1753 possibly in Whitby. He married Mary Coulthirst Feb 8th 1779 in Whitby. Any help would be much appreciated
Susan

Thank you for looking him up for me. At least I have his occupation and witnesses to his wedding. I thought he too would have been born in Whitby as Mary Coulthirst had been. Thank you again, its much appreciated

Hi there,
I wonder if you are still ok to look up within the parish registers for St Marys, Whitby.
If so, I would really appreciate a look for the baptism of Robert Harrison. I suspect there may be several.
I know that he married at St Mary's in 1798 to Jose Wilkes and that he was a bachelor and schoolmaster.
I am trying to find his baptism and hoping it is in Whitby, St Marys.
I would hazard a guess he was in his 20s to 30s when he married. They had a child in Sleights in 1799.
Thank you

(Just thought I'd include this in case)
No Burials found.
With it being a shipping town there is the possibility of them being born elsewhere.
Hope some of this helps
-
Hi.
Thanks very much for that. Richard & Martha look like they could be her parents but they are not recorded as being from Whitby. The odd thing re Hannah is that she died after her husband & those children who died but there are gravestones for them but nothing re her. I suppose they mat have split or she changed religions & is buried in an unmarked grave somewhere else in Whitby. I know a daughter Susannah Race m. Francis Allison, my forebears, & despite the Race family mostly being poverty stricken, William Race had made himself somewhat wealthy & he paid for Susannah & Francis to come to Australia. I take it that Hannah was not agreeable. Francis & Susannah married at Folkton with no family members.
Cheers,
Gary.
