Title: Address Query
Post by: Mags MacGee on Monday 26 June 17 22:41 BST (UK)
Is there anyone able to access the marriage certificate for the following people in Paisley Renfrewshire.
Margaret Rankine married Donald John MacDonald in 1962.
This is my friends parents who married in Paisley and then moved to Stornoway.  Her mum has recently passed away and she wants to scatter her ashes in Paisley but doesnt know where she lived. It could be Ferguslie Park but she is not sure and cant find the wedding certificate  She is hoping it might be on the marriage certificate.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks Mags

Hi

Marriage certs for that period are not available to view online.  You have to buy a copy

You don't know the address so you can't look anything up.  If you want her address at the time she married then the marriage cert is the only way.

Any family left in Paisley who can help?

That's true...

Sadly all family have gone.  I have referred her to Scotlandspeople and she can purchase the certificate.

Thanks

I think she can get a copy of the marriage from her local Registry Office?

I got a copy of a birth in Dundee, Angus from the Registry Office in Perth.

I also obtained another by phoning New Register House, paid by debit then I asked for the details I needed prior to receiving it in the post!

NOTE...It has to be paid for before she will receive any details over the phone.

She may also need to answer questions relating to her mother (probably for proof of who she is & how she's related)?
I did but it was for an uncle who's birth date I had wrong. I knew the month & year but the actual date he celebrated was wrong (he didn't know his own date of birth) which I later discovered had been a mix up when he immigrated as a child!
