I see John Joseph was born August 1864 so unless Mary was pregnant before the couple married the chances are they married 1863, if they were RC than they won't have a marriage cert as RC marriages were only registered from 1864.
Are you sure John Joseph was their first child?
-
Hello,
Civil registration did not begin until 1864 so it looks highly unlikely that there would be a civil marriage certificate as the first child was born in 1864. If, however, the marriage was not a Catholic one, registration started in 1845.
I see there is another child which you have not mentioned - Richard b 1873

I left my post here even though it duplicates Sinann's because of the additional child.

rootsireland, a pay per view site, has a record of a marriage of a Richard Sullivan and Mary Baker in Waterford 1856 with records of 12 children from 1857.It might be worth your while to take a 24 hour sub as the details can't be posted here

Hi family routes, I will have to go on the pay to view site and have a look for Richard and Mary baker and any additional information on family members.
It would take me years to find some of material members of rootschat provide.
Many thanks

Hi familyroutes, I have taken your advise went on the pay to view site.
I found Richard and Mary bakers marriage record, and a number of new family members. Also a death report for Richard but they give him as a butcher and we know he was a carpenter.
I am not sure if I can name the new members on this site

Hi sinann, the information provided by Jim Burke is correct, I also found possible parents but can not be sure Francis sullivan Margaret corish Dec 1828 but there are others. About year or so I found a death of a Richard Sullivan in jervis st hospital 6 12 1925 who died from a head injury a inquest was held but no information on line. This could be Richard the son 1873 as there is know family names on the register it's hard to say.

Edward and Mary 1878 gives father's name as James

But Richard in 1873 gives it as Richard

No wonder I couldn't find a death I was looking for James after checking the twins birth.

I was on Waterford Rootschat page 3 look up Ryan family, 4 years ago during that period,I found on Waterford directory 1877 and 1894 .Richard Sullivan's lodging house no 4 and in 1894 Mary's Sullivan lodging house Barronstreet little.
I thought maybe Richard died within that period, The Ryan family married Richard b 1873 in Dublin 1907.
