Hello
I am trying to help a friend with her family tree and am stuck. The Weiner family came to London sometime between 1896 and 1901 from Russia. The first two children were born in Russia and Charles Weiner claims to have been born in St George in the East in about 1901, but I cannot find a birth record for him. Father was Isaac, mother was Annie. Siblings Hilda and David.
They appear as step-children on 1911 with Mr and Mrs Gluckstein (Isaac died in 1907). Any help to find Charles birth would be much appreciated.

Hello
Do you know Charles mothers maiden name?
Have you found the other two children in 1901 census?

Marriages Sep 1907

It may help us if you can post the details from 1911 ;)

I don't know her maiden name, but on the 1911 there is a Joseph Bock staying and he is down as brother in law. May not be her brother, but a possible.

If this is any help
Charles Weiner death Southend on sea

D of B 11/01/1907
Louisa Maud
PS he may be connected to grandparents Abraham and Rose Weiner, which means he may not be "yours"

The only WEINER born in St Geo in 1901 is the following
YTZRAK YANKEF WEINER
1901 St Geo in East
MMN Schneider
Is this a possibility, haven't checked out anything further on this yet
Louisa Maud

Are these possible birth registrations? There is nothing much else
March 1908 St George in the East 1c 350
Gluckstein, Annie
mother's maiden surname Umchislofsky
June 1910 St George in the East 1c 281
Gluckstein, Godel
mother's maiden surname Amschshofsky
And a Rosie in Sep 1912, same district, mother Umschlofsky

Hi, My friend's grandfather changed his name to Warner at some point. He married his second wife (coincidently Louisa Maud!) in 1984 aged 83! He died in 1986 in Redbridge.
I don't think that birth would be him as his siblings had fairly standard names (Hilda and David) and there was no suggestion in his family that he had changed it. His father's name was Isaac.
The step siblings were called Janie and David according to 1911 census, so don't think they are the births.

Free index to the 1939 Register has, in Stepney
Annie Gluckstein, born 1878
living with
David Gluckstein, born 1910
Rose Gluckstien (later Parnes), born 1912
So that looks good. David could be Godel.
Marriage, Dec 1941 Willesden 3a 1338
Gluckstein, Rose
Parnes, Harry
Death, September 1994, Brighton
Rose Parnes
d-o-b 27 July 1912
So that is a good match on the Sep 1912 birth registration in St George in the East.
The step siblings were called Janie and David according to 1911 census, so don't think they are the births.
Two Davids?
And mum was Annie.

Only two Rose Parnes deaths in the GRO indexes
And only the one Harry!
Death, March 1988 Brighton
Harry Parnes

I know - 2 Davids. Surely they wouldn't have but both on 1911. I also can't find births for the names I do have. My friends family didn't know the name Gluckstein, but did know Annie had remarried someone and had more children.
Thank you. They must be work further investigation!
