Hello Sarah,
Yes, I did get yesterdays and I was very greatful. I did send you a reply yesterday. When I logged on just now it had disappeared, how rude!  >:(
It seems that most of the Colvers in Oadby connect to mine in some way. They all had large families. Am really interested in Walter. Past rellies always said what a great cricketer he was and played for Leicester County. It was prob. just them elaborating.
Regards,
Inchworm  :)

Thanks for the 1871.
I hadn't got around to that. Where did the Walter Gladstone Colver come from. Never knew that he had a middle name.
Do you happen to have the census before that one?
This always gets more interesting by the minute.

 ;) ;)

Unfortunately I can't find the marriage of William Colver and Elizabeth ?, but have found what looks very much like Louisa's birth

Louisa COLVER born
1863 in Blaby
March Quarter 7a 38

You should contact the Leicester Register Office for a copy of this but only if the father's name is William

Happy hunting

Thank you very much for that. I can't thank you enough.
Poor Walter wasn't married for very long, but then he had a late start.

Inchworm- Walter Gladstone Colver was an Amateur (as opposed to Gentleman)cricketer who played for Leicestershire County Cricket Club batting at 4 and 5. I have full history.
