Hello!
I am looking for parents of the five Hill boys of Stoke Poges, James, George, Henry, Charles, Joseph. Their parents, Joseph and Jane Hill, disappear from the record by 1861 and appear to have died. This left the boys paupered in the Workhouse or off to find work/apprenticing of their own by the 1861 census.
I am hoping someone could lookup on the 1851 census to see if Joseph and Jane Hill are living in Stoke Poges or, if they were even dead by then, if evidence of the five boys can be seen. Jane, according to the skimpy Stoke Poges records, seems to have been born in 1819, if that helps.
Much thanks to my benefactor.

Oh you angel!
Thank you! This is them exactly. Actually, that only four boys shows up on the census is perfect because that realllly connects them. Since one of the boys was said to be born in 1852 by the 1861 census. Good to know where the father was originally born. Already starting to search the IGIs for him in Chesham now.
Oooh... now the mystery is deeper. I wonder what happened to the parents. Again, THank you ever so much!

Glad I could help you.
If you don't find the fathers birth on the IGI for Chesham post a seperate message and I will pick it up. I live in Chesham and the library has printed copies of the PR's and it is easy to look them up
