This is earlier 1850's-60's.

This is the original in its frame. Perhaps the frame is a hint.

There does seem to be a slight colour on the original version

As I thought it's an ambrotype. These were the norm throughout the 1850's but were still in use into the early 60's. I think this is 1850's so you need to go back a generation.

I am always amazed at the detail that you wonderful group of restorers can extract from an old photograph. Thank you so much for scrubbing up Dennis (although I now think that it might have been his father, William!)
