Title: GARDNER from Shoreditch, Bethnal Green
Post by: Allison on Wednesday 28 July 04 12:55 BST (UK)
Looking for information on the GARDNER/GARDINER family from Shoreditch.George GARDNER born 1825 in London married Jane WHITE (born 1829 in Surrey),1851 in Hoxton.  They had 3 children born in London before emigrating to the U.S. in 1860.  Those children were William GARDNER born 1856 or 1857, Edward GARDNER born 1859 & Jane GARDNER born 1862.  I believe George GARDNER had a brother, Alfred GARDNER.  Grateful for any information.  Allison

Sorry no George or Alfred Gardener, Gardiner, Gardner of the right age living in Bethnal Green in 1851.

Actually I did find one George but he was married to Jane so I assume he is not yours.

I have an Amelia GARDNER who was born about 1832 in Dalston Hackney which is not too far from Shoreditch and Bethnal Green. She died in 1903 in Poplar. Unfortunately, I can't tell you much else about her except that she married Henry James BROOKER circa 1850 and they had 13 children. I don't know who Amelia's parents were, nor if she had any siblings. But, who knows, maybe your George was her brother?

Hello

This is an old request, but wondering if you're still looking for this information?

If so, there is a good possibility on the 1861 census in Southwark.

Regards
Jonathan

Hello,

As part of routine housekeeping, I notice that you have not responded to the re-query to ask if you are still looking for the information requested in your original post.  I am assuming therefore that you are no longer looking for this information and will move this topic into the Completed Requests section.

If this is not the case, please PM me and I will move it back into the Lookup Requests and hopefully someone will attempt to answer it.

Regards
Jonathan
