Kathleen Byrne born in 1890 married my welsh grandfather Robert Thomas Jones when they lived in Colwyn Bay. Kathleen was working at a hotel Their child was my father John Robert Jones b.1909 in Colwyn Bay,
After my grandfather Robert Thomas went off to the war in 1913 I think Kathleen left my father to be brought up by his grandparents. I have no idea where she went after that date. It may be she went back to Ireland?
Her father was called John Byrne and he was a joiner apparently. I am of the opinion that she and my father's father Robert Thomas split up and it is possible she went to live in Manchester?
I would like to know what happened to Kathleen as I know all about Robert Thomas (grandfather)
I would like to close the files. Robert died in 1961 and I do know where he is buried but not what happened to Kathleen. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Where does "Queens County Mayo" come into it? Where did you get it from?
There is Queens County
and
there is County Mayo

There is a townland called "Mayo" in County Laois.
County Laois was formerly called Queens County.

Hello,
Here is a previous thread
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=732653.0
I couldn't find Kathleen in 1911 as I was looking for her as Kathleen Jones. Your other thread explains that she is still Kathleen Byrne. They married in 1913 so is that correct that the child was born in 1909? You say they separated in 1913 also. It's just a bit confusing.
