Thomas Murley marries a Fanny LUMBERtT / LAMBERT, in Wells district, in 1855.
On the 1861 census they are living in Meare, with them are Henry and Jane.
Henry born c 1854 Meare and Jane c1858.
they are transcribedas, MARLEY.
I can find the birth reg., for Jane, June 1858, wells, mother maiden name Lumber.
Henry, however, is proving more difficult.
I cannot find a birrth reg., for him.
But I have found a possible baptism, in Godney, Father Thomas, Mother Frances, date, 22 Jul 1855
Problem being the surname ... MERLIN.
A search for a Thomas Merlin marriage and a Henry Merlin birth, brings no results.
But, there is a Thomas Merlin in Meare, in 1861, wife Elizabeth, but no son called Henry.
Thank you.

There are various baptisms for Thomas and Elizabeth on Colin Raynors site in the a - z list
freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~colinsgenealogy/Udevsite/index.htm
The marriage between Thomas and Fanny took place at Meare 16 April 1855, Thomas is listed incorrectly as Hurley on Colin's web site. There is a marriage certificate on another web site. Thomas aged 21, Fanny 28, his Father was listed as Silas. Both Thomas and Fanny were living in Godney at the time of their marriage so the baptism you found could have been correct. Possible 1841 census entry Selas Murley, Stoke under Hamdon, Somerset. Thomas aged 8 on census

Thank you Heather.
I have traced Thomas and his parents and siblings, Born in Stoke under Hamdon, Yeovil way as my OH puts it.
I think, Frances, is the daughter of William and Mary Lumber, from Westbury sub Mendip.
Although his occupation is plasterer and tiler and the occupation, is mechanic ( from OH ) on the marriage entry.
Colin's site is very useful and we have discovered, a link between some of his relatives and my OH's.

Indeed, used Colin's site a lot. Any Whitcombe or variants from Meare and surrounding villages are related to my OH.

The only Thomas I can find, has a wife Elizabeth, several children, but none named Henry.
Thomas Murley, married a Sarah Cousins, mother, possibly a DIMENT, from Chedzoy, any link to your Diment interests ?

OH's cousin married a Whitcombe, farmer from Westhay area

Have not found any Diment connections to Chedzoy. Only gone back as far as James Diment 1791 Cossington. Then the family spread through the villages, Edington, Chilton Polden and further afield, Wales and Australia. The Whitcombe/Witcombe families came from Compton Dundon and before that Kingweston.
