Does anyone have any news/rumours on when the 1921 census will start to be scanned and indexed? Given the size of the documents I would have thought they would be starting fairly soon for a January 2022 release date.
Also, has anyone written to whoever holds this census for information on a person living at a particular address if they provided evidence of an ancestor's death? I think this was done by someone in 2009 for the 1911 census.

Thanks for the link, Carol. I was only just thinking about the 1921 census's availability the other day - probably because I seem to be at a standstill with my own research, hitting seemingly un-breakdownable brickwalls wherever I turn. Though, come to think of it, most of those are way back in time so the 1921 wouldn't be much use anyway! I think I must have been seeking a distraction. ::)
Only 5 years to go !

Regarding the 1926 census of Ireland I would not get any hopes up. There has been no news regarding it and the government has other priorities at the moment.

I've seen that website but was looking for news that the census was might be in the process of being scanned for release in 2022.
