My wife's Gt. grandfather was in the RIC and I am trying to come to terms with their record system to make sure I can identify him amongst many with the same name.
I realise there will be very useful information available from the 19th century which should give me a lead on other members of the family.....BUT!.....is there anyone out there who is an expert on
de-ciphering the listings and can help me make a few more steps.
I am sure there will be someone who can give me some tips .
Thank you in anticipation.

Pension records, especially the last ones paid, may identify family (daughters or sons) he was living with when he died.
The records show the county people were from, which may assist.
Birth certs of his children might help.
