Where can I find electoral rolls (or similar records) for Sparta Street, London SE10 in the late 1970's? Can anyone do a search for me and, if so, what would be the cost?
-
Can you get to London?
There are sets onsite at the London Metropolitan Archives and at the British Library but they have to be ordered in advance of a visit as they re stored off-site.
You could also try Greenwich Heritage Centre or Lewisham Archives.

Sorry , don t know about electoral rolls but another way could be to search phone books(on Ancestry) but depends if you have a surname and want to see if they lived there. If you wanted the whole street to see WHO lived there then it would nt work if you see what I mean.

Thank you Dawn and Carol
I will try to get to one of the record offices and also follow up the idea of telephone book records under the surnames.

Sorry, I meant Cathy!

if you can't get to London, I may be able to help out in a few weeks time but I'm currently working elsewhere in London and can't easily get to St Pancras.

That is very kind of you Dawn. I am helping a friend with her family history and would like to know the occupants of 38 Ferguson House, Sparta street, London SE10 in the years from 1977 to 1979. There is no hurry with this but if you are able to help it would be much appreciated. I am willing to cover your expenses. Many thanks, Sue.

Hi Sue
Could you please remove the names you have mentioned?
I've made a note.
If anyone else can step and and do the look-up before I get chance to, please do.
