Hi,
My Great grandfathers brother, Herbert John married Mary Selina and they settled in Australia. I am aware they had five children including Leonard, Walter, William and Stanley Knight. I am looking to find out where in Australia they settled and if they had any descendants that maybe trying to complete their family tree with the family that they left in Bristol.

There is a mention of a Herbert John Knight in the Newcastle Morning Herald of 27th August 1897 on page 5 receiving an award from the Royal Humane Society (along with others) for his part in a mine rescue at the Stockton Colliery, so they may have came out in the 1890s.

The ww1 service record for Leonard George KNIGHT can be seen here.
He was born according to this record, 28/7/1893, and upon enlistment his mother Mary Selina was his NOK. He was a clerk.

Mary Selina was awarded 400 pounds from the Worker Compensation Board in 1929 as it Metropolitan Coal Company was apparently liable for her husband's death in some way.

She was born in Australia, not Bristol.

The family had moved to North Helensburgh earlier than 1908.
26th October 1908, a birth of a daughter (Marjorie Caroline) at North Helensburgh.
