Looking for someone to check and photograph a few gravestones at the Bethesda Baptist Cemetery
at Ponthenry. I have the Family History Survey microfiche, but would like photos.
Thomas Thomas died 28 April 1854, age 60
Mary Thomas died 21 October 1886, age 96 (wife of Thomas)
John Thomas died 11 January 1872, age 80
Mary Thomas died 6 May 1889, age 77 (wife of John)
Mary Thomas died 28 December 1844, age 37 (?) my question mark--may be 32 ?
Note: These stones are in the old section of the cemetery.
Thank You.

Did you ever get the pictures of Bethesda?
There is a gravestone just behind my Great Grandparent's grave which has all these names on it but the dates are all different. It also has the names Esther Jane and Harriet on it. The inscriptions are in Welsh. The picture I have of my Great Parents headstone shows this one also.
I will be going up there shortly, I'll have a look around and get some pictures for you. It is not a very big graveyard so this may well be a completely different family.

Hi--
Thanks. I know the gravestones are old and hard to read. I appreciate your checking.
No--no one ever took the photos.
THANKS for trying!!

I had a look around, There are 3 John Thomas that I could see, the one I mentioned d1891, Mary d1915. Another grave for John Thomas d1902 and also Jane d1909, the final one that I could see was for John M. Thomas d May 7th 1909.
The first one I mentioned has most of the names you mentioned but different dates:
Thomas d1865 aged 1.5 years
John d1891 aged 62
Esther Jane d1896 aged 16
Mary d1915 aged 76
Harriet d1952 aged 85
I will go back soon and have another look, my Grand Parents, Great Grand Parents and Aunt are all buried there so I take flowers up fairly regular.
It is not a big graveyard, trouble is that some headstones have fallen over and face downwards so there is no chance of ever reading them.

This is the graveyard https://www.google.com/maps/@51.7609223,-4.2061837,86m/data=!3m1!1e3 (https://www.google.com/maps/@51.7609223,-4.2061837,86m/data=!3m1!1e3)
About 6 graves in from the chapel itself there is an open space with some headstones that face a different way but the ones I could read had the surname Samuel on them. I might get a chance to go tomorrow again, I'll keep you posted.

Hello--
There was a Samuel that I was related to. A Thomas married a Samuel.
You are in the right place. THANKS.

Hello--
There was a Margaret Thomas who married David Samuel. She died in 1916.
He died many, many years earlier.
