Looking for a birth certificate for Richard Murphy 1837 Cork and Edward C1815 Cork. New to this so any tips would be most welcome!

No birth certificates for those dates, civil registration of births didn't start until 1864, so you need a baptism.
Murphy is the most numerous name in Ireland, there will be lots in Cork. (2079 male head of family in 1901 Census in Cork)
You would need to know where in Cork, Parish at least but townland would be far better and at least one parent if not both, and even that may not be enough.
There are two Richards 1837 in Cork and Ross but there is another Dioceses Cloyne.

Not all parishes will have surviving records for those years.

Hi Linda,

Were your mother and father Edward & Cynthia Murphy? I'm writing on behalf of grandmother Carol Collins, her mother was Wilhellmena Murphy. Edward was her brother?  :D
