Hi
I hope I have posted this in the right place.
Please would anyone be able to identify the uniform (and confirm person if possible) of who we think is my grandfather's brother Wilfred G John/s and where he would likely have served. He was born in 1913 in Stackpole, Pembrokeshire. I'm not sure if that is an airforce badge on his shoulder. There was only a message written on the back to my grandfather from 'brother Ted'.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
Maria

Hi, totally agree with Ady, if you look closely you can see part of the Bird wing on the gentleman's arm patch.

Frank.

RAF uniform - part of the eagle on shoulder showing. No rank showing and not aircrew.
You would have to send for his service record if you want to know where he served. All service records from early 1920s to present day at the MOD not available online.

Just realised I'd forgotten to say Ted is a common short version of Edward not Wilfred.

Thank you so much for all for your help
I will have to look into getting his records. I did find some service record info with a service number of 4391659 and in the Green Howards for WG Johns on FindMyPast, but as I cannot find a DOB there I cannot be certain that it is him.
Even though it had Ted on the back someone had written Wilf on the front of the photo which makes us think it is him and unfortunatley I have no one left to ask.
Kind regards
Maria
