Hi, would anyone with access to the Huntingdonshire information be able to see if there is any information on who the parents are of William Markley supposedly born around 1830 in Stilton. On a census there is the name of a mother which is Elizabeth born around 1796. I am looking for more information on who the parents to William are. Any help, suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Hi
From the 1851 census it shows a William Markley age 14 born Stilton with father Thomas and mother Elizabeth and a number of other children
The new GRO search (https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp - needs registration) suggests the children (transcribed in some cases as Muckly) have a mother maiden name Dickinson.
FreeBMD has them in the Peterborough registration district
Hope this is of help
Happy hunting
Chris

I can't find a census with a William Markley bc.1830 Stilton (only the one mentioned by C P Rayson who was bc.1837 Stilton - however, mother Elizabeth was bc.1810 so don't think this can be the family you mention.
If you can tell us the census you have found them on, where, and if mistranscribed what surname are they under?
