Title: Peel Henshaw
Post by: Bucksgirl on Saturday 04 March 17 09:33 GMT (UK)
I have been looking for the death of Allen C PEEL since finding a monumental inscription in Henshaw churchyard twenty five years ago.  His parents Ernest William & Annie (nee NICHOLSON) PEEL are buried close by.  He was born in 1929 and the inscription reads 'Died 9th August 1950 in his 21st year'.  Apparently he died in a motorbike accident according to family hearsay.  I cannot find his death in England and I have checked Korean conflict deaths, newspapers on line do not cover this area for this date.  Thanks Jenny ???

The Scotsman 10th Aug 1950

MOTOR CYCLIST DIES FROM INJURIES
Allen Graves Peel (20), of Hexham, Northumberland, apprentice colliery electrician, has died in Ayr County Hospital as the result of injuries received on Monday when his motor-cycle was in collision with a bus on the Ayr-Girvan road. The pillion rider, 17 year old William Veitch, also of Hexham, is still in Ayr County Hospital, but his condition is not serious.

Will have a look later to see if there is any report of a Coroner's inquest.

No, sorry I can't see a coroner's report in the Scotsman.
