I've been struggling with the maiden name here; at first I thought it starts with an La? but now I'm wondering if it could be Edwards with the top of the d just lost somehow? I'm really not sure though. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

But I could not find a John Dick marrying an Edwards in Scotland 1855 to 1916. Unless it was before or after these dates
-
Thanks Barry - It would have been before. This is from the marriage of their son John Dick in 1874. I haven't managed to pick him out on the census though. I think he died in 1879 as his wife married someone else in 1881. I've found a John Dick born to a John Dick and Janet Edward in Angus in 1841 but it's stated on the marriage that he was 47 in 1874 so that doesn't add up.

Ah well Edwards is wrong! I was right in the first place with La? - it's actually Lawcock. I tracked it down. Thanks for looking.

There is a Janet Edwards marrying a John Dick, Glenisla, 1841. ScotlandsPeople. Oh well things happen.

Hi Barry - yes that's the one I found previously too but it's incorrect. The correct name is Janet Lawcock.
