Can anyone help with latin inscription on baptism certificate St Josephs` Church Liverpool.
My ancestor John Colbeck born 05/06/1903 His father was William Colbeck and his mother was Sarah Anne Lancaster.
Directly below his surname Colbeck there is an inscription CONVERSUS AD FIDEM Can not find translation. Also on bottom of certificate where information for PATRINUS FUIT ( which I believe meant The Sponsor was present ? godfather ) this has been crossed out on top of crossed out part TESTES AD FUERUNT is added which I believe means witness present. Any help appreciated.

Mr Google translates Conversus ad fidem to Converted to the faith

Having a look at the baptism, he was born 5th June 1882 and baptised 18 April 1903.
Therefore I would think that he himself converted to catholicism at the age of 21.

Thank you so much. I did not notice his date of birth on baptism certificate. He may have converted to get married to a catholic girl.
