Title: Children of Ann Jones (nee Evans)
Post by: judy purssell on Friday 10 February 17 23:52 GMT (UK)
I am looking for the children of Ann Davies, who was in Conshohocken, Montgomery, Pennsylvania in 1870, after her second marriage to Daniel Driskel.  By 1871 she was back in Merthyr Tydfil with her father, Evan Evans, with two sons, Richard and John Davies, and daughter Maggie.  I believe Richard and/or John went back to America later.

Hi Judy,

Dates / ages would help - have you got them all in the 1871 Census  - or any other UK census?

I am looking for the children of Ann Davies, who was in Conshohocken, Montgomery, Pennsylvania in 1870, after her second marriage to Daniel Driskel.  By 1871 she was back in Merthyr Tydfil with her father, Evan Evans, with two sons, Richard and John Davies, and daughter Maggie.  I believe Richard and/or John went back to America later.

What are you looking for?  Is it where they are born? Is it where the son or sons went back to later?

Cheers
AMBLY

Hi Ambly.  I wrote this very late last night, so apologies for the message!  I know that Ann Evans married James Davies in Merthyr Tydfil in 1854.  I can't find them in the 1861 Census, but know that she went to America.  In 1870 she appears in the American Census of Conshoken with Daniel Driskel and a daughter, Maggie aged 3.  In 1871 she is back living with her father, Evan Evans, with Daniel Driskel (Driscoll) and Richard Davies aged 16 and John Davies aged 14.  I would like to know whether James died, where and when she married Daniel in the US, and what happened to the Davies sons as I believe they went back to the US later in their lives.  Her second husband, Daniel, was my great great grandfather, but he was tragically killed in a railway accident in 1874, and Ann married again in 1875 to Morgan Evan Jones.

Pennsylvania did not record deaths on a state level until 1906. Prior to 1906 some attempts were made to record deaths but  usually done on the county level and then not until about 1893.
You would need to know toughly where James died and look at Church records/cemetery records/newspapers..............

Family Search Collections Index shows what is available for marriages in Pennsylvania.

What is your last sighting of the sons Richard and John Davies  ? Does either son have a middle name ?
