Is this the marriage you are referring to :-\
Marriages Sep 1865
Eliza Peek
Ingram Webb
Tendring 4a 325

yep, I have that info, can't find Eliza's parents though.....
-
The marriage certificate should give Elizas fathers name
Do you have information on Ingram before his marriage
-
yes quite a lot. i know his parents and his grandmother's maiden name was ingram. his "different" christian name has been a blessing in this case!
his grandparents were richard webb and mary ann ingram. their son james webb was ingram's father and his wife was elizabeth maynard. they were all from clacton or bures/suffolk area. it was ingram's son, my grandfather arthur webb who came to manchester.

There is this Eliza in 1851 with father George but you really need the marriage cert to confirm

St James Parish Little Clacton Parish Registers
entry number 115
Ingram Webb, labourer bat. full age father James labourer married 14 July 1865 Eliza Peek, spinster full age father George labourer.
Witness Henry Webb and Mary Ann Webb.
All parties signed.
So Eliza Peek's father is GEORGE Peek.
Henry Webb would appear to be a possible cousin, son of William and Elizabeth Webb bap 16 January 1842.

amondg, you're an absolute star!

You may have missed a step somewhere.

wow, it certainly looks like i have and ingram as her maiden name would make sense to give one of their children that as a middle name. i note further on that ingram himself gives one of his sons, raymond, eliza's maiden name as a middle name, ie raymond peek webb.
looks like a family trait, thanks for the info, really appreciated!!

1851 Census Little Clacton/Great Holland Road
James Webb 48 born GREAT CLACTON
Elizabeth 40 born KIRBY
James 13 born Little Clacton
John 10
Ingram 9
George 7
Parish Records St John The Baptist Great Clacton
James son of James and Susan Webb baptized 15 May 1803
this matches with DOB and place of birth 1851census.
Parish Records St Michael, Kirby le Soken
Elizabeth daughter of Robert and Susan Ingram baptized 27 October 1811.
this matches the 1851 census DOB and place of birth.
You have me confused Eliza' who married Ingram Webb her maiden name was Peek and she was a spinster when she married, daughter of George.
Added if you are using the family tree on anc---try it's incorrect as they have Eliza as daughter of Samuel and they have James Webb as the son of Richard Webb

Think she's mistranscribed on Ancestry in 1861 as Eliza Peck, b c1844. Housemaid at Walton Hall, Walton le Soken
ref RG 9, 1093, 62, 5

gosh it doesn't help that they misspellt their names, does it? peek/peak/peck. they also seemed to not be sure on their actual dates of birth!!
