That's a good find hol.

Just looked up Lancs OnLine and found the marriage too. Says James was a bootmaker. You're right, John's occ as "barber" could be a typo.

Looking at the actual marriage certificate I would say that John's occupation is Baker.  The capital B is the same as in James's occupation of Boot Maker and the k is the same as the k in Maker.

I have now gone off the family i have from Ireland with Letitia born 1823 as mother.
Reason is that there is a Letitia M gardiner living with son John .C . Gardiner 1847 baker.
Being as the children were registered with Cunningham as mothers maiden name i punched in John Cunningham Gardiner  and found a marriage in 1874
My only doubt is that Letitia is shown as schoolmistress and the writing doesnt actually look like it says Letitia
I have confused myself....

Back again.
The census entries with John born 1846 born Liverpool and Margaret born 1848 makes sense.
On the 1871 census when lodging with the Lamb family there is a son John born 1866.
Looking on gro site is John gardner b1866 mothers maiden name Fitzmaurice.
Marriage John Garner and Margaret Fitzmaurice 1864 Liverpool.

On 1861 census
Patrick Fitzmorris 1801 Ireland
Family includes Margaret born 1849 Ireland.
